We are MLOC Productions – the third oldest community theatre group in Australia and celebrating our 80th anniversary in 2025.

Founded in 1945 as the Mordialloc Philharmonic Society, we originally attracted return service men and their wives to form part of an 80-strong choir. Early performances included charity events and services for ANZAC Day, before performing at the opening ceremony of the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.

In 1969, we became the Mordialloc Choral Society, performing concert versions of musicals such as Brigadoon. We then became Mordialloc Musical Society where we started performing full scale musicals in 1977.

By 1985, we had become Mordialloc Light Opera Company (eventually abbreviated to MLOC) and have been performing a variety of productions in south-east Melbourne ever since. Previous productions include SpamalotThe Wizard of OzThe Sound of Music, and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.
